Approximately 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events passed over the area, producing wind gusts topping 109 kilometers per hour.

Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also faced electricity disruptions after the capital city recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the state, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both regions.

Medical authorities warned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
